Craziest ending to a track meet I’ve seen in 15+ years of coaching. The stadium lights went out during the 3rd leg of the 4x400 (due to automatic timer). Not a single team broke stride and instantly 400 cell phones lit up the track so the teams could finish. Absolutely insane!

Paris would seem to have got a lot of things right. But totally dropped the ball on this one - not letting each torch bearer keep / buy their torch. The excuse of cost or environment does not stack up. IOC should never have approved. Strangely Albertville did same in 1992!
