Founded by Dr Arfa Masihuddin, Rufayda operates on a human-centered design thinking model. Driven by her experiences, from witnessing the lack of compassion in patient care to facing the inhumane working conditions during the pandemic, she was inspired to mitigate physician burnout.(1/4)

This led her to establish an online platform, the International Community of Humanistic Medicine (ICHM), which served as a prototype for Rufayda.

Choosing to explore ways to improve working conditions for healthcare professionals that would empower them to practice humanistic medicine, Dr. Masihuddin continued her journey as she pursued a health innovation fellowship at Aga Khan University' s CCIT Forum.

Her capstone project there laid the foundation for her master’s dissertation. Delving into the organizational factors affecting the quality of work life for HCPs in Karachi, she found the inspiration to reimagine ICHM into Rufayda.

Motivated by this vision, Dr. Masihuddin was joined by her sister, Tooba Masihuddin, an IBA graduate of MS Management with four years of entrepreneurial experience.

Selected for participation in the National Health Incubator 2023, Rufayda is poised to advocate for and offer services for the well-being of healthcare providers.
