On this day in 1625, King James I made his last recorded visit to Royston, a town he transformed into a royal retreat. But just weeks after this final visit, James I passed away, marking the end of an era.

Did you know the Museum's printing press didn't retire when it stopped printing the Royston Crow? Today, it's at the heart of the Museum and reguarly used. Next Sunday, pop in to see the relief printing process from start to finish, and have a go at working the press yourself!

Ever wonder how the printing press at the heart of the Museum works? Pop down this Sunday to chat to Rhian (the creator of this gorgeous lino cutting design) and see the printing process from start to finish. Plus, there'll be a chance to have a go at working the press yourself!

For #WorldBookDay, we present this beautiful printing block showing a collection of books. The block is an inch square, and packed full of detail. The craftmanship to create and then print with these blocks is incredbile, as can be seen from our attemps to print with it.
