99 lives lost to drowning this summer.

Behind the number, families, friends and communities are grieving the loss of their loved ones. Our thoughts are with those who have lost someone to drowning, and those who support someone living with the effects of a non-fatal drowning.

Sadly, 99 people drowned across Australia this summer.

82% of these drowning deaths were male, and 26% were aged over 55 years old

Similarly to previous years, drowning deaths most occurred at beaches and rivers/creeks.
