We condemn a Home Office video referring to immigration lawyers who provide legal advice to migrants as ‘activist lawyers’. Solicitors advise their clients on *their rights under the laws created by parliament* lawsociety.org.uk/contact-or-vis…

The Greek government published new rules for refugee camps. Anyone working for an NGO within them will be bound by a confidentiality clause that bans them from discussing anything they see or hear while working. This will make holding authorities to account even more difficult.

Today the Greek government gave a select group of journalists "evidence" that NGOs pay for migrants to get from Somalia to Turkey and then help them cross the border. This thread looks at this "evidence" as published by Greek daily Kathimerini. 1/8

Always good to see Greece scoring highly on an international index ... ah wait ... this one is on violations of democratic standards

Can someone explain to me why Keir Starmer is so intent on recapturing a shrinking working class, who are regularly fed lies by the Daily Mail, that he is willing to abandon all principle? Surely the expanding middle class is who he should be trying to appeal to? #LabourParty

I keep seeing the line 'EU is having vaccine problems because it was too slow in negotiating contracts' repeated in 🇬🇧&🇺🇸 media. I want to push back on this narrative because I think it's missing where real EU-level mistakes lie. Let's review what happened in past year (🧵1/17)

Delighted (and slightly shocked) to share that I’ve been awarded an Exhibition Scholarship from The Inner Temple. For all the warnings against embarking on the journey to becoming a barrister, this scholarship is a beacon of hope. Things *might* just turn out alright. ☺️

Here’s a story that would've been funny if it wasn’t so worrying. RSF publish their latest index on press freedom in which #Greece has dramatically dropped from position 70 to 108. To those closely following political developments in the country, this was no surprise. 1/
