You cannot legislate to say that some people deserve fewer human rights than others. We remain absolutely opposed to the #RwandaBill , and stand in solidarity and support with all those who have been left more fearful for the future this morning, having come here seeking safety.

A dark day. But there is always hope.

The Rwanda bill has been passed. Today we grieve, but tomorrow - along with the 500+ orgs of the Together With Refugees coalition - will continue to fight for something better.

Today our thoughts are with the people who came here to seek safety who now live with a new terror.

That is what the Rwanda bill boils down to. Performative, useless terror serving as a cynical distraction from the real problems we face. We will fight it with everything we have.

We have seen first hand the mental and physical harm caused by some of the Home Office placements. That deaths are not being properly recorded is a serious cause for concern. Those seeking asylum should be treated with dignity and respect, not hidden.
