The doctors @ MDAnderson are part of why I'm still alive. That radiation therapy is one of the reasons. So, therefore, is Nancy Pelosi.

The cancer is still around. I get a regular treatment. But it's under control- a chronic condition

She called a friend in Houston and got me and my family a place to stay for our first 2 weeks in Houston before I found a place of my own.

When my insurance company was hesitating approving the latest type of radiation therapy, she had them rethink that decision.

She didn't mince words. She had heard the news. Asked for the update and the details.

I told her I was struggling to find the right doctors to figure things out.

She didn't skip a beat. By the next day, she had called to get me seen at in Houston at MD Anderson Cancer Center

11 years ago this month, I was diagnosed w/ cancer - salivary duct adenocarcinoma. Been pretty public abt it over the years but less so lately (no real new news).
