I'm afraid Jade has a point. There is no urgent spending commitment or recognition of the desperate urgency of the current situation. On Ukraine at least more continuity with current UK govt policy than change

The reality: an incoming Labour government could end up handling the collapse of Ukraine unless something changes fast. Even if the Americans finally pass their damned aid package, there is no time left for wishful thinking and umming and ahing about 'fiscal rules'.

Philosophical shift is welcome, but no (sensible) Tory would disagree with any of it: everyone agrees we're in a dangerous world and need to spend on defence. It's substance - and money- that counts, and many will worry there is not enough sign of that...
