Facing sentencing, I just saw this video of decades of Chevron's toxic dumping in Ecuador — with Amazon rivers literally on fire from the company's oil sludge. Chevron's crimes deserve harsh punishment. So why am I the one facing prison after 2 years of detention? Sickening.

So much death. So much suffering. A pain that will echo across generations. And so much of it preventable. Sometimes I catch myself in a moment of reflection completely unable to fully wrap my head around what continues to transpire.

How can anyone say they are "patriotic" and "love their country" when they refuse to act against the drought, flooding, forest fires and extreme weather disturbances which cause our nation so much destruction. Climate change is real. The U.S. must lead the way in combating it.

Losing the family farm, rationing insulin, drinking poisoned water, risking our lives on crumbling infrastructure, forfeiting pensions—none of this was part of the deal. Kentuckians deserve so much better. We deserve a Kentucky New Deal.
