Rep integrity is HUGE if you want to progress in training. Cade Maclin looked exactly the same during every rep, all the way from 145 to 285. 285 was his 10lb PR. If you don’t groove good technique when it’s light, your body won’t remember it when it’s heavy.

Jalen Carter sees that the OG Sam Cosmi is light on his hand pre snap & calls it out! Once the ball is snapped, Carter beats the pin & pull by quickly penetrating into the backfield with a club swim & strips the ball from the RB, leading to a turnover! #StopTheRun Chase Senior

The weight room is only valuable if you’re consistent. So you can’t avoid it before & after every game, & play 50 games a year. You’ll end up with no progress, & get sore every time you actually train. Just do the work, I promise you can squat & still play ball.

With the volume of Heavy Squats, Deadlifts, etc. that our Lineman do. I want our Olympic work to be FAST/VIOLENT, which means we often only work in the 70-85% rep range with these exercises. Twitchy with great technique is better than heavy and slow.

There’s a lot of dumb coaches who get kids hurt in the name of toughness. Don’t be stupid. But this whole anti-toughness mentality isn’t the answer either. The whole world is preaching comfort. Coaches should be the voice pushing athletes to do hard things.

That's a pitcher... on the same trip where he got 12 Ks in 6 innings in the SEC tourney while recording his highest average velo of the season.

Here’s a few cross-country boys and girls from this morning. By this point, they’ve already ran with cross country and with our regular summer program. Don’t be scared to get strong, kids. None of these kids have ever not gotten a medal at State, by the way.
