The Formation Chief and I visited the Rocky Point Bird Observatory, where volunteers band migrating Saw-Whet Owls. Thanks to the volunteers and FSE for arranging this visit. Though done for the year, the general public can observe banding next year in Oct at the Pedder Bay site.

Our 2023 Nocturnal Owl Monitoring wrapped up on Halloween. It was our 2nd busiest season ever - we banded 1455 Northern Saw-whet Owls & 22 Barred Owls between our 2 stations! 87.7% were hatch year so a great reproductive season here in BC!
