Today, we welcome back a wonderful guest, Charell Star. We first discovered Charell in 2021 from the “Humans of New York” column and video she was featured. We wanted Charell to come back on our podcast to give us an update on her work in the foster care system since then.

The House just unanimously passed my bill to make sure every child in Maryland’s foster care system receives appropriate luggage for their belongings — and never a trash bag.

So most people have no idea what this means to me! I will never forget the day that my amazing friend Joe walked into our national center and said why the hell is this happening and I’m going to do something about it and sure enough he did!

We have been nominated, once again, to partner with Target for their Target Circle fundraising program! 🙌💙
