Another hard-working and miserable to play against guy, Gunnar came to camp knowing he’d have to be a physical force to crack the roster. So that’s what he was. He showed off a bit of sniper’s touch too for good measure. Great moment for this young man, and well earned.

Perry was a calming influence in net for the Wheat Kings, especially in the win over Swift Current in Virden. More stability between the pipes is never a bad thing and he promises just that.

Former Wheat King Rhett Ravndahl appears to have won his training camp battle in Kamloops to stay with the team for his 20-year-old season. Rhett was all class when he was here and I’m glad to see him get that one last year in the WHL.

There was never any doubt. When I say “plays like a captain” the mental image that comes to mind is someone who plays exactly like Caleb Hadland, and he conducts himself like one off the ice as well. An easy choice, yet still an excellent one.
