The #TTM2trial was published today in the NEJM nejm.org/doi/full/10.10… Here’s a summary of what we did, what I think the trial means, and what next. TTM2 niklas nielsen Critical Care Reviews NEJM

Practice changing trial. Congratulations to the study team for a very well executed trial. I think TTM2 puts an end to the debate of 33 v 36, but is it time to totally abandon devices for maintenance of normal temperatures?

I saw this exact patient today. 62yo. Prior CABG. On atorva 80, LDL-c 54, ApoB 82, Lp(a) 117 (down from 230 prior to statin therapy). Leaning towards PCSK9i therapy. Wondering what my lipid guru thinks - @AnnMarieNavar ? jacc.org/doi/abs/10.101…

Exciting news from my alma mater ⁦University of Maryland School of Medicine⁩. I was fortunate to watch Dr Griffith do some amazing surgeries during medical school. Wishing a smooth recovery to the courageous patient. apnews.com/article/pig-he…

I watched last night’s figure skating conclusion with my two teenage daughters and found it absolutely disgusting all around, including the commentating on ⁦⁦⁦⁦NBC Sports⁩. These girls deserve better! slate.com/culture/2022/0…

Great time helping out with a student procedural training night organized by the Duke Int Med interest group and the amazing Liz Hankollari. The future is in good hands. Thanks to the residents who did the hands on training. Duke IM Residency Duke University School of Medicine

I am so glad to see this training is still going strong, and in good hands with Jenny Van Kirk and Dennis Narcisse. Code team leadership training is so important! It has come a long way since we started doing it in the med res library back in 2009

Do you know what to do in an emergency? This 2-minute video demonstrates Hands-Only CPR and using an AED. There are two simple steps that can save a life: 1. Call 9-1-1, ask someone to get an AED, if available. 2. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
