Couple of days Spurn Bird Observatory nothing sparkling birdwise, couple of shorties, a few common migrants and a few waders. Aurora was certainly the highlight. Had my first dragonflies of the year with Hairy and a four spotted chaser
Stop off on way to work to Pump House Flash Sandbach Flashes whimbrel back again at back of the pool. Then 3 swifts over the car park at work
Circular walk round Fodens and Watch Lane Flashes Sandbach Flashes year ticked reed warbler with 5 singing plus 3 Cetti’s and a pair of common tern on the old brick month so hopefully try to nest this year. Now off to The Hawthorns to see if the Albion can make the playoffs COYB
Quick stop off at Sandbach Flashes on way to work year tick with Common tern yesterday’s Curlew Sand still on present on pumphouse. Also 2 LRP, 1 common sand and a female goosander

Early lap of Foden’s Wood Sandbach Flashes marked influx of chiffchaff and blackcap all in good song. Also singing goldcrest and Tawny owl calling. Best though was brown hare, first I’ve had down there for over a year. Yellow archangel was also in flower

Decent morning over Maw Green Tip Sandbach Flashes 1st willow warbler of the year plus couple of nice redpoll and 2 singing Blackcap. Quick dash back to Railway Flash after Andrew Firth found a dark-bellied Brent goose which is a patch ✔️ for me. Good find mate
Great morning at RSPB Middleton Lakes Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, green-winged teal and Glossy Ibis. Also couple of singing willow warblers and a blackcap
