Tonight was our Summer Send Off concert and garden party! TamaraRees led the way with her musical talent, conducting our Ss this evening. One of our gr. 8 narrators translated the evening in Arabic, enabling more families to fully engage in the night. Bravo, Rams! #ramsrock

We wish all Indigenous staff, students, & families a safe and enjoyable National Indigenous Peoples Day! June 21st corresponds to the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Many Indigenous Nations celebrate their cultures at this time of year, a tradition for centuries.

Several classes at Riverside enjoyed painting “Strawberry Moon” with Moses Lunham online. Mrs. Gallacher’s kindergarten class did an amazing job, don’t you think?! #ramsrock

This weekend is the local Oakridge Pride event, and Ss at Riverside had the opportunity at recess yesterday to come to the gym & create posters of love, support, and pride. Beautiful messages & pictures were created. #ramsrock

On Friday, Riverside Ss we’re led by Tanya, parent & member of the Oneida Nation, in a school wide blessing in Oneida, a moment of silence for those who never returned home, a healing circle for our FNMI Ss, & Q’s answered. It was a day of listening, learning, & healing.

Today Riverside PS participated together as a school to support Canadian hero, Terry Fox. We ran together, with a unified goal: to raise money and awareness for cancer research. It was a day of unity and strength as a school community. That’s what it’s all about! 💕

The Riverside community came together & donated 165 pairs of PJs to a local Thames Valley DSB school for the Holiday season. Great things happen when we come together & share our care! Way to go Rams. Thames Valley DSB

Tonight Riverside hosted our first Heritage Carousel for our school community. We had traditional food, dances, clothing, information, and music - it was a wonderful evening of togetherness, celebration, & connection. Thames Valley DSB
