The 35th annual “Say No to Drugs March,” sponsored by the Riverhead Community Awareness Program Inc. will take place at Pulaski Street Elementary School on June 10. The march will kick off at 9:30 a.m. in front of the school.

Riverhead HS has achieved the NYSPHSAA School of Excellence Award for the 2021-22 school year. To receive this recognition, 75% of the High School’s varsity programs had to have a GPA of 90 or above for 75% of the team. At Riverhead, 92% of the varsity teams have over a 90 GPA.

Students from Debbie Cantalupo and Selena Pagliarulo’s art classes at Riverhead High School made hundreds of ceramic poppies, which have become part of an annual installation at the World War I monument. More than 400 poppies created by students were planted around the memorial.

The Night of Strings took place on June 7 at RHS.The concert featured orchestras in grades 5-12.  Each group performed a piece on stage and by the end of the night, all string students came together to perform "Blinding Lights" by The Weekend. Check it out below⤵️

The RHS Band joined the NJROTC & Kickline to march in the annual Memorial Day Parade. Students played familiar songs dedicated to our veterans as community members lined the streets cheering them on. At each memorial along the parade route, student trumpet players performed Taps.

We celebrated our annual Art in Action exhibition on May 20 at RHS. Artwork was featured from K-12 students. Digital Filmmaking ran a 40-minute presentation of student films. Additionally, there were live demonstrations of ceramics. Check out some artwork below!

This May, students returned to a traditional concert setting. Each concert brought its own significance. For some, this marked the 1st time they were able to have an in-person concert in front of an audience. It also was the final concert for our seniors. Bravo!🎶

The Riverhead High School Chamber Choir recently had the opportunity to work with the Grammy award-winning men’s choir, Chanticleer. During the one-hour, virtual meeting, students sang repertoire from their chamber concert to members of the group and received feedback.
