Updated thoughts on the widespread severe weather event expected to take place Monday and Tuesday. Bimodal threat on Monday across the Plains with all hazards possible before the threat, perhaps more potent, shifts east Tuesday. Hope to have a new video out tomorrow morning.

Gabriel Harber Not at all saying the outcome will be anything close, but the bones of the setup remind me a bit of 4-3-74. Main trough was positively tilted w/ a lead negatively tilted shortwave moving into the Midwest. Also had quite rich moisture after several days of unimpeded return flow

Holy cow! This tornado Norman Smith got from yesterday is almost identical to the 1974 Super Outbreak, Sayler Park F5!

That tornado looks IDENTICAL to the 1974 Cincinnati F5

Probably the most impressive single exposure lightning photo I took last year. This was over Kitt Peak, AZ back on 7/30/23. Chris Riske and I call this one the frog bolt. Can you see why?
