This Mother’s Day I check my privilege. I am lucky to be a mother, a step mother. As far as I know we are all well. I am thinking of those who yearn to be a mother, the mothers who have lost children & those who are fleeing war and genocide trying to keep their children alive.

For the main artwork, I took inspiration from JIM FITZPATRICK - one of Ríoghnach Connolly' favourite artists - as well as Alphonse Mucha, one of mine, along with ancient Celtic and Old Norse designs. I leaned into Art Nouveau quite strongly - with some bright and bold colours!

It's been a real honour to have been tasked with both creating new artwork and building a new website for the amazing Ríoghnach Connolly, as part of Rí's Arts Council England development project!
