The Star Tribune's ever-charming, ever-erudite Chris Hewitt has a delightful new installment of my favorite Twitter feature. Go, books! (Sorry/not sorry, 'X' sticklers, but that usage is like calling 'The Store Formerly Known As Dayton's' by the dreaded M-word. Nope).
This morning at the food shelf where I volunteer, we were unloading the weekly Second Harvest Heartland delivery and I was happy to see so much milk and so many oranges, carrots and potatoes. They're all high-demand products, and they'll be popular with clients. Support your local food shelf!
I've always loved that Modernist McDonald's. Excellent observations (as always) from Lee Bey of the Chicago Sun-Times: bit.ly/4an0k3H
On this wintry morning, it’s great to see a big shipment of Vitamin C-packed citrus at the food shelf where I volunteer. I snapped this as we unloaded the delivery from The Food Group in the snowstorm. Fun, sort of, in a MN-winter kind of way. Support your local food shelf!
Delighted that Gray Fox Coffee is opening a skyway-level outpost in The Store Formerly Known As Dayton's. Perhaps this will help to jump-start the creation of the building's long-planned (and long-delayed) lower-level food hall. #700Nicollet #DowntownMinneapolis . .
Delighted to see that Joachim 'Aki' Berndt is moving his (terrific) Aki's BreadHaus to roomier digs, from Central/Lowry to a new NE Mpls home at 1712 Marshall St., next door to Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative. Opening this summer. Quite a journey from a table at the Maple Grove Farmers Market!
