Should Blackheath Standard have a 20 mph limit? Absolutely.

Heavy traffic on a winding road network with narrow pavements as people dash to catch the bus. I’m pleased Averil Lekau has asked highways officers to investigate the issue.

It’s finally done. Sadiq Khan re-elected with an increased majority (small swing from Conservative to Labour). Time to move forwards and make London a better and more sustainable place to live our lives. Need to learn from terrible mistake of Silvertown Tunnel.

Congratulations to Karin Tearle coming second in the Greenwich & Lewisham London Assembly election, pushing the Tories into third. Shows residents want a cleaner, greener and more sustainable borough! πŸ‘πŸ‘

With four days to go until all Londoners vote for Mayor of London and London Assembly members, we’ve had no canvassers visit from any of the political parties, and no party political leaflets through the door. Is that unusual?

We are living in a strange work where one party campaigns on an issue and other party has already rejected in order to scare the electorate. It’s stuff like this that turns people off politics and is more a sign of desperation.

That Woolwich foot tunnel has been unavailable to disabled people, those with reduced mobility / shortness of breath and most cyclists for almost two years is shocking. Vast sums have been found for , but nothing to replace lifts that are not fit for purpose.

Hit by a car at 20mph 9 out of 10 pedestrians will survive.
At 30 mph, about half of the pedestrians will be killed.
At 40mph 9 out of 10 pedestrians will be killed.
Taking off those extra mph is vital in reducing fatalities on our roads.

Having read the article, I don’t think Susan Hall being 19% behind in the polls is a dramatic shift. But, I suppose it encourages people to read the article and generate more advertising income. Interesting that poll shows Greens moving into third place, overtaking Lib Dems.

This is why politicians get such a bad name. Why scare people into thinking only by voting for you will something be stopped, when Sadiq Khan has already committed to not doing this if reelected? It’s a blatant lie.

It’s good to see there are still sensible people in the Conservative Party who see the benefit of cycling for health, environmental, efficiency and cost saving reasons. Full speed ahead in West Midlands whilst in London it seems to be full throttle reverse.
