How about something like ‘These views are my own and not those of the BBC’ from Gary Lineker and a ‘Sorry if we over-reacted’ from the BBC? The BBC tearing itself further apart is the sort of thing that gets anti-state fundamentalists on the Right out of bed in the morning.
Listening to BBC News (UK) - so far not a peep on the junior doctors’ strike. Broken Britain is now so normalised I guess. And what little coverage I have seen is focused entirely on pay when in truth they are also drawing attention to how hard it is to give safe basic health care 1/4
Great listen - first time I’ve heard Gary Lineker say that he’d been given special dispensation by the BBC DG to tweet about refugees long before the recent furore. Also good to hear Rory Stewart being schooled in football matters.
