Update on the glasshouse. We have been very busy since last update with all SSD’s harvested and resown, the F2 nursery and Birdcage seed increase harvested. We also completed the main crossing block for the year as well as a small crossing block for disease resistance. #ausrice

The field team finished hand harvesting the short rows and the hill plots today. Approximately 3,000 short rows and hill plots were harvested, a massive undertaking! These hill plots and short rows will be dried, threshed individually and cleaned for next season’s plots.

Update on the glasshouse. Crossing is in full swing for our top crosses. F1’s seed increase nurseries have flowered, the DNA test results have come back, harvest will start soon. Bulk seed increases for the field are progressing well. SSD nurseries harvest will start next week.
