The recent hot weather has had us dreaming about the seaside. Hopefully we can visit soon but I am not sure we will be wearing this week’s object!

Mae’r tywydd poeth diweddar wedi gwneud i ni ddechrau breuddwydio am lan y môr. Gobeithio y cawn ymweld yn fuan, ond dydw i ddim yn meddwl y byddwn ni’n gwisgo gwrthrych yr wythnos hon!

Mae’n wastad yn dda iawn i ail-ddarganfod eitemau yng Nghasgliad Treftadaeth Sir Ddinbych. Mae yna lawer o resymau pam mae rhai eitemau ddim yn addas i ddangos, felly mae’n wastad yn gyffrous iawn pan rydym gyda siawns i ddangos rhai eitemau mwy anghyffredin y casgliad.

It is always great to re-discover objects within the Denbighshire Heritage Collection. There are many reasons objects are not suitable for display, so it is always very exciting when we get the chance to show some of the rarer items in the collection.

They say that music can lift your spirits, although we are sure someone must have been doing a rain dance over the past week! Perhaps this week’s object corner could help.

Yn ystod y cyfnod clo mae llawer o bobl wedi troi at jig-sos a phaent, yn ogystal â datblygu eu sgiliau crefft. Roedd gennym ein jig-so ein hun i’w gwblhau yng Nghornel y Gwrthrychau yr wythnos hon.

Lockdown has seen many people reaching for the jigsaws and paint, as well as developing craft skills. We had our own jigsaw to figure out in this week’s Object Corner. Although we do not think it will win any artistic prizes, we still like it!

The holiday season is now in full swing and this week’s Object Corner reflects a very traditional holiday pastime, made popular in the Victorian era – the souvenir.

Efallai ei fod yn edrych fel rhywbeth allan o Harry Potter on mae’r eitem yma yn cynnwys ‘Lliwydd Hylifol’ ar gyfer bwyd.

It may look like something out of Harry Potter, but this item contains ‘liquid colourant’ for food.
