Responsible mining practices are good for the environment and the community. It contributes to poverty reduction, minimizes health risks & promotes long-term benefits. We carry this gospel to mining sites in peri-urban areas in Central Uganda. Thanks to ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme 4 support.


Women constitute over 60% of people employed in #artisanalmining activities in Uganda. We deliberately target more women in our capacity building activities. In #Luweerodistrict 80% of participants were Women and Girls of 18 years. Made possible through ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme program

70-80% of artisanal miners in Africa are informal. Of these 40-50% are women. Uganda is taking a bold step towards a formalized ASME sector supported by Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme UNDP Uganda OACPS Secretariat and implemented by Ministry of Trade Ug and Rhamz International


This Year 2024, we are partnering with UNDP Uganda and National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) for a study to identify and assess subsidies with possible negative impacts on biodiversity and propose redesign options. Watch this space for updates about the findings and recommendations for Uganda.
