We used 23 tonnes of sand on Saturday night to perform 'crush testing', which involved simulating the light rail vehicle being full of passengers and testing for ride comfort and safety

In the wee hours of this morning we welcomed home the 2nd of our fleet of 6 light rail vehicles. LRV2 is now safely in the depot and will start testing straight away. The delivery took a little longer than planned, however Hunter St has now reopened. LRV3 is due Thursday morning

Our two new LRVs are safely in the depot while the third is out for on track testing. The other half of our fleet will arrive in the new year #NewcastleLightRail
