This morning we are glad to be hosted by CLIC Updates to discuss the how the Muslim community in Houston engages in interfaith relations and to learn from each other as well as best practice on how to strengthen relations within Houston and across the United States

We learned about plans for the largest interfaith potluck to ever happen in Houston! Very cool!

We were thankful to be hosted by Elaine Howard Ecklund, Herbert S. Autrey Chair in Social Sciences, RiceSociology professor, and director of the Religion and Public Life Program this afternoon! A very rich and detailed program!

A wonderful day 4 with key faith leaders at the U.S. border with Mexico. Insightful perspectives on the humanity of engaging those seeking asylum and nuanced conversations about border communities.

Inspired to be with religious leaders from East Africa, West Africa, & South Africa! Hindus, Muslims, Catholics, Anglicans, and United Church of Christ came to discuss the ways in which faith can make a generational difference on instances of corruption & governance

So glad to partner with Aspen Initiative Africa - Nairobi on this important convening!

We were challenged by Zilennials (Gen-Z and Millenials). They asked us: -what are faith communities thinking around governance? -what will faith communities do with their thinking? -how will faith communities find a solution to just governance? -how will they model justice?

The panel is still very much on my mind. A few more of the Zillenial (Gen-Z and millennial) questions: -how will faith communities see the humanity of people? -how will they step in when government seeks to divide? -how will faith communities do good for struggling communities?

Still thinking about last week -there was a real hunger and thirst for the diverse faith communities to be in dialogue together. -For Generation Z and Millennials to be heard by faith leaders, for the Zillenials to see faith communities wrestle, and to strategize was very moving

A big thank you to Aspen Initiative Africa - Nairobi ! Together we fulfilled a thirst and hunger for these faith communities to be in dialogue together and for Zillenials to be co-collaborators to strategize and effect change.

The convening between Religion & Society Program and Aspen Initiative Africa - Nairobi I believe can be a real model for diverse faith convening and inter-generational conversations that are needed and timely.
