Tremendous day out at the Ipswich to Felixstowe Run today. A big group of Sinclair C5s made the ten mile trip successfully. Great to meet some fellow C5 enthusiasts and see another part of the country.

Thanks Banhammer72 for the BBC Micro User Guide. It is in excellent condition and still a great resource for anyone who enjoys tinkering with the BBC Micro.

New chain on the C5. The old one was floppy and kept coming off. Also I have re-instated the original tungsten rear lamp. The LED replacement didn’t have the same effect through the diffuser. LED remains in the front though, as the lamp housing can melt or distort from lamp heat.

Today I’ve been helping sort CRT monitors at the TNMOC store. We were struggling for a source of 640*480 for the older monitors, so a Steve McQueen DVD and a video scaler came to the rescue. Only one monitor went pop and released magic smoke.

Replacing the stock “granny killer” lead set on my issue 4 BBC Micro with a nice safe one. Much more elegant than just cutting the plug off.

Nice old mag from 1982 with a programme guide to the BBC’s “The Computer Programme”. Who knew there was a pilot? I wonder if it is on YouTube.

Great day out at #TheCave checking out the museum. Hands on with some new systems for me such as a Vectrex and Atari 800. Friendly staff and beautiful setting in Chalfont. Thanks RMCretro (Neil) and company!

Finally got round to starting some Sony PVM restoration. I’ve got two ex-hire company units with great tubes but scruffy cases. The metal case is now back from the powder coaters and looking great. #CRT
