I really don't get where this constant negativity from the press about Cristiano comes from ... The Media is just trying to get clicks, and pundits who don't have a career anymore just want to get attention with his big name and try to make him look bad...

In New Orleans, police power *increased* after lauded reforms, with police often enacting state violence through everyday uses of their power, under conditions that rarely elicit mass outrage or media attention. We must accept nothing less than #abolition.bostonreview.net/articles/lydia…

This is a pattern happening across the U.S. to basically privatize municipal governments & hide spending/accountability/public records access behind the veil of “private foundations.” This is happening in New Orleans AS WE SPEAK with NOPJF essentially laundering public funds. x.com/staceyhopkinsg…

“The ad cost $27,500 & was paid for by the New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation.” The NOPJF received $900,000 from New Orleans City Council for “recruitment,” so the city just just dropped ~$30k on an ad (that NOPD pulled in under 1 hr) instead of funding housing, healthcare, etc.

I’m telling y’all right now, this isn’t about public safety. I don’t even think this is about criminalizing Black people. Personally, I think this is about the rise in mass protests and the police state wanting more surveillance and facial recognition programs to subvert them.

After the French Revolution, CLR James wrote, French liberals would object to the word “slavery” — not the thing. Liberalism is unconcerned with the material world.

We won’t have truthful discussions about Zionism in this country until people are honest about the fact that anti-Palestinian racism permeates our political culture. bit.ly/3TkpJFJ
