Now make hundreds of studies assessing psychiatrist diagnostic accuracy of the same patient with one dominant symptom to test how well a symptom can describe a diagnosis. And how common misdiagnosis is. Diagnostic accuracy project. Many funds one goal. Public Health FTW

Not only is it appalling that Mandy K. Cohen, MD, MPH is publishing policy statements behind a paywall, NEJM is claiming copyright over a work of the US government, something that is explicitly not allowed under United States law.

That’s exactly how academia also gets clinical trial transparency wrong. People go and the university is clueless.

In some science, technology, engineering, and mathematics-STEM fields, data sharing is the norm (e.g., physics or space science). However, this is currently not the case in biomedicine, except for certain exceptions in areas such as genomics Florian Naudet

Nature now charges $12,290 US to publish a single article open access. Shall we list some things that cost less than that? I'll go first: a 2017 BMW 330i sedan, a 7-day cruise for a family of four, six Louis Vuitton purses. 🤪

🤔 If I would be a PI who publishes roughly 365 papers a year based on raw imaging data collected from my underlyings, I would genuinely consider to push my institute to get a service like imagetwin to avoid the worst.

First time I am hearing of the idea of a Research Guarantor - the author who takes responsibility for the integrity of entire project. Seems like a very useful thing to require upon submission, but seems to be underused.

Journal rules for citations are BS, makes it harder to find the relevant text & allowing methods citations on top of that creates this conundrum. Classical Publishing is serious research waste.
