To celebrate Dorset Search & Rescues 20th Anniversary, we welcome 20 new recruits to the team!

Today was their first training session as they learned Search Skill theory and they then put that into practice at our head quarters in Crossways.

Tonight, the legend that is @rescueshrek1 is hanging up his helmet as Thames Commander after 11 years at Tower.

Night 1 of this set and my fantastic crew tonight are Paul Savage OBE, Mark B and Ellie. So far we have all been watered and fed and been afloat on an exercise. Rescued a member of public’s jacket with house keys in and now back at station and #TimeForACuppa ☕️ 🧥🔑

Turns out a project patron is not only an RNLI fan but Lego too!

He’s been working on a Lego Shannon class lifeboat and has submitted it to LEGO® IDEAS.

It needs 10,000 supporters in 420 days to be considered!

Today marks His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent’s 55th anniversary as President of the RNLI.

Since 1969, The Duke has shown unwavering commitment to the RNLI. We would like to thank The Duke for his support and dedication to our lifesaving charity.

Today we remember all those who died and all who were injured and affected by the Westminster Bridge attack on 22.03.2017.

Our thoughts are also with emergency services and NHS teams who responded on scene, in control rooms and hospitals.

Day 4 for me and Craig. Great to have Laura Lewis joining us today. The day so far has had training afloat with some more surprise #RNLICasCareTraining then back to station for ‘last day of the set’ deep cleaning of the station and lifeboat. Super clean E-10! #TimeForACuppa

Day 3 and we have been joined by Suzanne 💙 on this lovely warm shift. 2x calls so far today with some on the spot #RNLICasCareTraining , some boat cleaning and of course the occasional obligatory #TimeForACuppa . Team fed and watered and ready for action ☕️

Sue recently had the proud honour of celebrating the RNLI's 200th anniversary at Westminster Abbey with her husband Keith, who has been a volunteer with RNLI Llandudno Lifeboat Team for over 30 years

Day 2 of this set and we are joined today by the legend Ellie. 2x calls so far with MPSonthewater and a wee jaunt inbound to the shallow end to collect stores from our friends Chiswick Lifeboat. It’s definitely now #TimeForACuppa ☕️
