Top work. Keep it up! Sam Freedman
Especially since grades are so unreliable. Did you know that, for every 10 students taking 8 GCSEs, only 1 gets 8 right grades, and 9 have at least 1 wrong grade? Unreliable grades do great damage. youtube.com/watch?v=eaS6yP… canburypress.com/blogs/news/the… Rethinking Assessment Rescue Our Schools

Year 6 Sats students: this lovely film is for you. The sooner we get rid of SATs and all the other pointless - and very expensive - high stakes tests in primary, the better. More Than A Score Stephen Morgan MP @EmmaHardyMP
Is the appeals process for GCSE, AS and A level grades fair? I don't think so. Thank you, SecEd, for publishing this blog. New Institute for Fiscal Studies NHH Norwegian School of Economics & University of York research suggests mixing with better educated families improves the life chances of lower income children Should this lead us away from a two-tiered education system in which wealthier children can be educated separately? ifs.org.uk/news/mixing-be…
An excellent bit of digging, this. Shows just how little private schools do for a massively underfunded state sector. If they want to hang on to their charitable status they need to rethink their relationship with local schools so they genuinely make a difference. Nicola Woolcock
