Over 40 years of full-time work, a Black woman stands to lose almost $1 million because she’s not paid the same as her peers.

That hurts all of us.

It undermines the promise of America: that if you work hard and play by the rules you should be able to live the American Dream.

This pay inequity destroys so much potential, and it's time we address it once and for all. That’s why I cosponsored the Paycheck Fairness Act and I’ll keep fighting for equality for all of our daughters.

Every black girl should grow up knowing that she can make it in America, and will be paid what she has earned. #BlackWomensEqualPayDay
