Summer heat is here. In WI good samaritans who find a child or pet in a hot car and take the required initial steps are empowered to act to rescue the occupant without facing liability. I was proud to author this state law in 2015. Learn more here: docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2015/related/l…

In the midst of a global pandemic, the Legislature has not met in over 100 days. Today the Kenosha News published a piece I wrote advocating for action on the issues important to the people of our state. kenoshanews.com/opinion/column…

After several difficult nights in our Kenosha community, I was encouraged by the relative calm last evening and am cautiously hopeful future days will be free from further violence and unnecessary destruction.

.Governor Tony Evers traveled to Kenosha yesterday to meet & speak with citizens who have been impacted by the overnight violence and destruction this week, as well as the shooting of Jacob Blake. Last night again saw protests, which remained peaceful. Here are my latest comments.

While we have gone through so much over the past week, the uplifting, the inspiring, the hopeful part has been watching the community come together to try to support one another. We are #KenoshaStrong.

Today I was glad to join Gov. Evers at the new Kenosha vaccination facility and to acknowledge the work of both his administration and local leaders to make our vaccine rollout a national success.

Despite the opportunities presented through the leadership of Tony Evers and Joe Biden - today's budget did not provide a sufficient investment in Wisconsin and our future. While there were some positive aspects, we could do more and we should do more.

Today marks one year after an officer-involved shooting left Jacob Blake paralyzed in Kenosha, garnering international news coverage and further highlighting the need for action and attention on issues surrounding use of force, law enforcement training & racial injustice.

Extremists will have a tough time undermining the rights of women. Women will not bow down to politically motivated politicians or courts who impose life-threatening bans on their reproductive health. I stand with the millions of women across our country who are not backing down.

When facing a mental health concern or living with a mental health condition, it's very common to feel like no one understands what you're going through. I want you to know you aren't alone.
