Following continued events last night, today I released this statement calling for an end to the violence and destruction our Kenosha community has witnessed.

After several difficult nights in our Kenosha community, I was encouraged by the relative calm last evening and am cautiously hopeful future days will be free from further violence and unnecessary destruction.

.Governor Tony Evers traveled to Kenosha yesterday to meet & speak with citizens who have been impacted by the overnight violence and destruction this week, as well as the shooting of Jacob Blake. Last night again saw protests, which remained peaceful. Here are my latest comments.

Now is a time for our city to come together and not to be divided or distracted from that mission.

Today Governor Evers announced he is proposing a major investment in Kenosha. The Kenosha STEM Innovation Center project will be located at the former Chrysler site and will focus on growing opportunities in education, workforce development and job training, and entrepreneurship.

Extremists will have a tough time undermining the rights of women. Women will not bow down to politically motivated politicians or courts who impose life-threatening bans on their reproductive health. I stand with the millions of women across our country who are not backing down.
