Since '22, I've worked on legislation to reform the process to compensate those who were wrongfully convicted and served long prison sentences for crimes they did not commit. It finally passed tonight. Grateful to have worked on this with Chair Katie Dempsey & many others.

The Trump Administration would have a far stronger hand against China if it had included allies Japan, South Korea, the EU and others on its side of the table instead of imposing sky high tariffs on them. A major miscalculation.

Just heard about Ben Harbin. Heartbreaking. We sat near each other for 5 yrs, & clicked from the beginning. Ben was substantive & irreverent (in a good way). He wasn’t an ideologue, & he had a knack for seeing the big picture. My deepest sympathies to his loved ones.

I'm grateful to report that Gov. Kemp signed SB 244 into law. This bill reforms the state's approach to compensating the wrongfully convicted with clear rules, standards, & timeframes. It's an absolute game changer for those who need it.

Correct. Total bust in Georgia. Administrative costs are much higher & the program has not worked. The waiver app estimated 47,362 would enroll by end of year 2. They won’t even get to 10,000. In sum, it’s more expensive & fails to reduce the population of uninsured. Avoid.

Test, identify, and prosecute. No matter how long it takes. Great work by DA Boston and her team, GBI, and everyone who worked to obtain justice for the survivor. ajc.com/news/2025/06/r…

There are days that changed the course of history. D-Day was one of them. May our actions today be worthy of their courage and sacrifice 81 years ago.

This is b/c of Republicans’ One Big Beautiful Bill. GA already had very high uninsured rate. Now it will get worse. And hospitals will close. Skyrocketing health insurance premiums will hit 1.5 million Georgians hard ajc.com/opinion/2025/1…

I think back, & it wasn’t that long ago, of deploying w/ Danes for Bosnia & then after 9-11. Both were NATO missions & the Danes were a great ally. What Trump & his henchmen are doing w/ Greenland is the opposite of what they think it is. It’s a massive self-inflected wound.
