Today the House unanimously passed HB2640, known as "Francine's Law," which helps law enforcement conduct a more efficient investigation in missing and unidentified persons cases by requiring they enter all known information about a victim into one system. bit.ly/2XLRUxV

The bill is named for Francine Frost, who disappeared in 1981 and whose remains were not identified until 2014. Rhonda Baker served as the House author.

One of the events I look forward to most each year is the Oklahoma Youth Expo Legislative Showmanship. This year I was paired with Kammie Stehr from the El Reno FFA Chapter, and got to show her heifer, Pudding. We may not have won grand champion, but we sure had a lot of fun!

Henry Kimball from Hinton served as my page this week. He plans to be an Aeronautical Engineer. It was great working with Henry throughout the week, and I know he has a very bright future!

The Galloping for Hope barn party celebrating the Savannah Station Therapeutic Riding Program was a huge success! I’m proud to support an organization that works so hard for our young men and women.

Burger Day in El Reno is one of the highlights of the year! Great food, community support and fun activities make it a success. I got to help Brooke Robertson emcee this year and she does a fantastic job!

I was proud to present Mr. Ronnie Funck of El Reno as Veteran of the Week in the House today. As we approach Memorial Day, it is particularly poignant to me to recognize a veteran who has devoted so much of his life to our nation. Thank you, Mr. Funck for your service!

It is amazing to see the resiliency of the residents of El Reno and their ability to come together in times of need. The pictures detail the devastation of the tornado, however they cannot detail the strength and love the people have for this community.

It was an eventful day in Canadian County! The El Reno Chamber partnered with Redlands Community College to host a legislative breakfast. Then the Canadian County Chambers of Commerce hosted Governor Stitt for a legislative summary and luncheon.

I had the distinct honor of standing alongside the family members of Francine Frost as Governor Stitt signed “Francine’s Law” into statute. Working with the AG’s office, Medical Examiners, NAMUS data base colleagues, and Senator Julie Daniels was a tremendous experience.

Thank you to Rhonda Baker and Rep. Nollan for asking SREB to present on the need for a unified vision for the workforce and student discipline. Meagan Crowe and I were honored to present to our Oklahoma legislators. We are so proud to support our SREB states.

The El Reno Coffee Connection was at Ft. Reno this morning. This is a historical jewel in HD 60! Congratulations to the businesses that were honored for their work in the community. The Ft. Reno employees were up at 4:30 a.m. this morning preparing campfire biscuits and coffee.
