Had a thoughtful and productive conversation with AARP Texas about the challenges facing older Texans, from the rising cost of prescription drugs to threats to Social Security, Medicare, and long-term care. I’ll keep fighting to protect the dignity and health of our seniors.

Texas families are hurting, and they deserve answers. House Homeland GOP must hold a hearing on the catastrophic Central Texas floods. We need accountability and real plans to prevent this level of destruction from happening again. House Homeland Security Committee Democrats juliejohnson.house.gov/media/press-re…

Texans deserve answers. Families are still reeling from these devastating floods, and too many questions remain. I’m demanding a full review to find out what went wrong so we can protect Texas families in the future.

Had the best time speaking with Capitol Hill interns today for our Intern Lecture Series. I reminded them that our democracy works when young people get and stay involved. To every intern: thank you for all you do, and never stop pushing for a better future!

If Republicans really believed in transparency, they wouldn’t be voting to block the release of the Epstein files. Americans have the right to know what's in them. Release them now.

Tomorrow, I'll be playing in the CWSoftballGame to help raise money for breast cancer research and support! I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to my good friend Deiadra, who I'll be playing in this game for.

We promised not to leave our Afghan allies behind, but Donald Trump broke that promise. Families who risked everything to protect our troops are now in danger because this Administration turned its back on them. This betrayal is a stain on our nation.

ICE is targeting and deporting people who are following the law, showing up for hearings, doing everything right, only to be snatched away by unmarked agents. In America, we don’t punish people for playing by the rules. We need accountability, not state-sponsored fear.

As Texans struggled to get support during the floods, Kristi Noem fired FEMA call center workers who were supposed to answer calls for help. That’s not leadership. It’s negligence. We must demand accountability and make sure a tragedy like this never happens again.

Getting ready to take the field for the Congressional Women’s Softball Game — a bipartisan tradition that brings us together for a cause that matters: supporting breast cancer survivors and funding the fight for a cure. 💖⚾ #PlayForACure #womensupportingwomen #breastcancer

FEMA is supposed to help when disaster strikes, but cuts and call center firings left Texans alone during these devastating floods. Lives were lost. Calls for help went unanswered. We must hold this administration accountable.

Texas Republicans failed our state. Local leaders rejected flood warning sirens just because the help came from a Democrat. Governor Abbott did the same, denying Texans life-saving warning systems. I won’t stop fighting to hold them accountable and demand better for Texas.

Team Congress took the win at this year’s CWSoftballGame, but the real victory is raising money to fight breast cancer. Proud to play alongside a bipartisan group of my colleagues and the D.C. Press Corps in support of survivors, families, and lifesaving research.

Republicans want to eliminate NPR and PBS, silencing trusted local news and taking programs like Sesame Street away from kids who need it most. Public broadcasting and trusted local journalism belong to the people, and we must protect them.

Women and families in Texas deserve an economy that works for them. My @demwomencaucus colleagues and I are fighting to lower costs, expand child care, and protect Social Security. Our policy agenda puts women first.

Late last night, Republicans passed a defense funding bill that targeted women in uniform, stripping them of access to life-saving reproductive care. This blatant attack on women’s freedom makes our troops less safe and less free. I was proud to vote NO.

Productive conversation with the TEXOAssociation, the voice of North Texas’ commercial construction industry. We talked about building good-paying jobs, strengthening our workforce, and growing our economy. Proud to support our builders and workers!

56 years ago today, our nation achieved a historic milestone by putting a man on the moon. On this anniversary, I wanted to share with you a little #DCTidbit about the lunar landing and its special connection to your U.S. Capitol building!
