Today I called for support of Rep. Jim Haddock's HB2235 to protect workers at meat packing & food processing facilities; one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. I hope my colleagues will recognize this is an opportunity to follow through on their commitment to help PA workers.

Today, the committee held a voting meeting and favorably reported Rep. Jim Haddock's Meat Packing and Food Processing Protection Act, which will enhance worker health and safety in this vital but high-risk industry.

I’m excited about a settlement that was reached with PPL to give money back to the consumer’s pockets. We must do better with our reporting when it comes to misrepresenting money owed on someone’s monthly bill.

In addition to workplace injuries or incidents, there have been many lives lost due to occupational illnesses and diseases in the U.S. Public workers in PA deserve the safety protections offered through OSHA, and I was proud to vote for HB299 to provide them.

Pittston City was awarded a $200,000 state grant to extend the Riverfront Trail beyond the North Main St. neighborhood. The trail will ultimately provide alternative transportation routes for bicycles and pedestrians. bit.ly/49TiBF2
