Thanks to the bold action taken by President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, & House Democrats we’ve created good-paying union jobs and brought manufacturing back to America. On #LaborDay, we remember the sacrifices made by those fighting for the right to organize as we continue to build on this progress.
Celebrated #LaborDay at Moshassuck Cemetery in Central Falls at the Rhode Island Labor History Society Annual Address alongside many labor and elected leaders. Grateful for Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park Park Ranger Allison Horrocks’ speech on the legacy of the workers who molded early America.
A strong public transportation system is essential to reducing traffic, lowering emissions, and supporting economic opportunity. Great meeting with the RI Transit Riders and GrowSmartRI to discuss my commitment to funding public transit.
Every child in Rhode Island, no matter their background or grade level, deserves access to lifelong reading comprehension skills. Thanks to this federal grant, Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) will be able to expand our state’s literacy efforts and ensure that no struggling student is left behind.
Thrilled to join Senator Jack Reed and @EPANewEngland to announce $1.5 million going to 7 Rhode Island orgs with Southern New England Watershed Implementation Grants. These federal funds will support high priority environmental restoration projects — boosting our coastal ecosystem.
