We secured funding for Haverhill Promise targeted literacy intervention for Haverhill students after school. Today, I was excited to see firsthand the impact at Golden Hill Elementary! We witnessed students practicing comprehension & appreciated the hard work of Golden Hill staff. 📚

Had a great time celebrating Ag Day at the State House! MA produces 23% of cranberries nationally, along with many other foods and products. We discussed what the state has done to improve food security and support farmers, as well as the work that still needs to be done.

It was pleasure to visit the YMCA Freight Farm in Haverhill with Congresswoman Trahan and the Haverhill delegation. Since last September, the Freight farm has grown over 1500 pounds of produce, much of which is used to make school lunches in Haverhill.

It was an honor to recognize Ja’net Jusino of Community Action Inc at the Black Excellence Awards at the State House. Ja’net’s work through CAI has ensured that Haverhill residents always have a knowledgeable resource on housing that they can talk to and work with.

Great conversation on current and future initiatives at NECC and how legislators can best contribute. With programs like MassReconnect helping folks 25+ earn degrees for free, NECC has been able to reach a tremendous group of professionals in the Merrimack Valley.
