Today is World Kindness Day. It is a great time to reflect on the ways that acts of kindness can make a difference in friendships, families, communities and the world. God calls each one of us to be kind and compassionate to each other as members of God’s loving family.

Lord, make us instruments of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon. Guide us as Pilgrims of Hope, bringing peace and light to a world in need. Amen.

Saturday was Louis Riel Day, a day to celebrate Metis culture. Louis Riel is credited with founding the province of Manitoba and working to protect the diverse history, culture and identity of the Metis people.

This year, November 18th to 22nd is designated as Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week. We are called to help prevent bullying and to follow the example of Jesus in standing up for what is right. May we promote peace through our actions & treat one another with kindness.

Today is Red Wednesday, a day of prayer, action and awareness in which we are invited to remember all those Christians around the world who have suffered for their faith. Many churches and buildings will be illuminated in red to honour them.

We pray that every being, regardless of their religion, live in peace and harmony without any kind of persecution. We pray to you, God of peace. #RedWednesday

Yesterday was Universal Children’s Day, a time to make joyful memories and honor traditions with children. Jesus had a special relationship with children. He taught that both “being kind to” a little child, and “being like” a little child, requires us to have open, giving hearts.

Today is the feast of St. Cecilia. She is the patron saint of musicians. May her devotion and joy inspire us to lift our hearts in praise and find God’s presence in the beauty of music. She is the patron of St. Cecilia School in Maple.

Saturday was the Feast of St. Clement, an early Pope and martyr who guided the Church with faith and courage. May we be inspired by his example of leadership and devotion as we journey together as "Pilgrims of Hope" this Jubilee Year. St. Clement is in Woodbridge.

Sunday was the Feast of Christ the King, the final (Ordinary Time) Sunday of the church year, and the feast day of Christ the King in Richmond Hill. The message of this Feast is simple. “Our King is Christ!”

God of Charity and Justice, We often ask the question, “What would Jesus do?” Help us today to have the wisdom to answer this question and to act on doing the right and loving thing. With your guidance we know we can follow in your footsteps. Amen.

Many thanks to the construction class students of Sacred Heart and teacher Mr. Kowalchuk, for building this beautiful new cross, one that will now sit in our main display at the Catholic Education Centre, reflecting that we are called to centre ourselves and our work in Christ.🙏

During the month of November we have continued to explore the virtue of justice and what it means to be a responsible citizen. Lord, help us to lead our world in the ways of justice and peace. Help us to be at peace with ourselves, our families, friends and neighbours.
