We held our Region 18 Superintendent Study Group Meeting today. We honored Ms. Jessica Harkins, Elementary Teacher of the Year, Terrell County ISD, and Ms. Michelle Cochrane, Secondary Teacher of the Year, Big Spring ISD. We also heard from Dr. Ray Perryman about our region.

We held our 3rd day of Comprehensive Reading Academies for some of our Regional Teachers. We continue to help support and guide teachers throughout the year as they navigate through the Reading Academy course to ultimately impact students in Reading and Language Arts.

Harmony Public Schools is hosting the 2nd annual Harmony Math Competition. This competition is open to any 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-grade students in the Permian Basin area. To register your students or for any inquiries, please visit harmonyelpasomath.weebly.com. The deadline is 2-25-24.

On August 28, 2024, Region 18 hosted its inaugural Amazing Race: Federal Programs Summit, sponsored by Brainchild. Participants were treated to testimonials from Ms. Liz Murry and Mr. Ernesto Majia regarding homelessness and the importance of parent and family engagement.
