#Cohesion Policy supported the renovation of Nicosia City Hall's municipal market building.

This is set to become a new hub for #creativity & #innovation 🧠 to foster a competitive knowledge economy, revive the area & create new jobs.

#Cohesion Policy 's support to research & innovation has helped investments to R&D grow from 0,48% of GDP in 2014, to 0,80% in 2021!

Since 2014, #Cohesion support benefitted:

🧪87 firms cooperating with research institutions
👩‍🔬217 new researchers’ jobs

Since 2014, #Cohesion Funds supported mobility in 🇨🇾 including by:

🚲developing 20km of bicycle lanes, 5km of bus lanes ➕creating/rehabilitating 79 584 square metres of open space in urban areas

🛣️diverting cargo arriving in the Limassol port away from the urban areas

#CohesionPolicy supported the ΓεΣΥ new information system ensuring that all medical activities under the Cyprus General Health Care System are organised in a single, centralised IT System.

This improves the quality and efficiency of the health care system for all Cypriots!

🇪🇺🇨🇾 Cyprus has benefited greatly from #CohesionPolicy funds since EU accession in 2004.

This funding has supported:

🔶the creation of some 5,000 new jobs
🔷1600+ enterprises

This is hard evidence that strategic funding brings tangible economic progress!

💡 In Chios, with the development of an Industrial Center unlocking the potential of mastic, a plant resin for many biomedical uses.

🚇 The extension of Athens Metro Line 3 to Piraeus stands as testimony to #Cohesion Policy's impact.

With € 894.8 million in #EUfunds , the project has improved connectivity, enhancing mobility for 132,000 daily passengers while reducing traffic and CO2 emissions.
