The Head of Operations ,Mr. Deo Bashokwire, welcomed Japanese parliamentarian M. Aisawa Ichiro, alongside a representative from the Ambassade du Japon au Cameroun 在カメルーン日本国大使館 M. Aoki. Together,they explored opportunities for strengthening UNHCR-Japan relations to enhance support for refugees.

A new chapter unfolds as 50 households, comprising 243 Nigerian refugees embark on a journey back to their homeland in Banki. UNHCR deeply appreciates the engaged efforts of the governments of Cameroon and Nigeria for facilitating these returns in safety and dignity.

UNHCR Cameroon and Plan International Cameroon marked a successful Back to School campaign at the Yaoundé 5 Council! Running all through the month of August in the cities of Yaounde and Douala,the campaign has as goal to increase the rate of enrollment of refugee boys and girls in school by 5%.
