We had pleasure in welcoming the Thomas Cook Pensioner's Assn to the Record Office. It was the first chance we had to show the progress we are making with sorting & cataloguing the collection. It was great to share their memories & insight into the company. #ThomasCookArchive

As the Thomas Cook collection is not yet fully catalogued, we advise researchers to contact us in advance of visiting. Requests for items may take longer to retrieve than usual & responses to remote enquiries may be delayed as we'll need longer to locate items in the collection.

Very topical at the moment, this 1985 leaflet was found in our ephemera collection. On the reverse it shows what benefits you may be entitled to for help with your heating costs. #heatingcosts #leicestercitycouncil #benefits

Come & visit us at the Record Office where you can listen to eight oral history recordings received from the University of Leicester - East Midlands Oral History Archive. We are the first location outside the University to have a sound post so make the most of it while it's here.

Before Sir Edwin Lutyens' Arch of Remembrance on Victoria Park was unveiled in 1925, there was a temporary WWI memorial in #Leicester's Town Hall Square. Thanks to Leics Record Office for this great photo from their archives. #RemembranceDay
