If you support a guaranteed & viable curriculum, you also need to support common grading.

This is why grading reform advocates prioritize practice (homework) that focuses on feedback & not grades. Practice is hard & requires risk taking/failing to really cement learning. Compliance for completion & grade grubbing doesn't cut the mustard when it comes to learning.

As schools consider grading reform, think about how you can QUALIFY learning vs. QUANTIFYING learning. It is very difficult to create a uni-dimensional symbol to represent multidimensions of learning.
