My message today at the Assembly of First Nations Annual General Assembly was this: real equity, mutual benefits, and shared stewardship of resources aren’t just words. They are the foundation on which we will build Canada Strong in true partnership with Indigenous People.

We’ve announced the first series of nation-building projects! With guidance from the Indigenous Advisory Council, conversations will now begin to make sure we Build Canada strong in partnership. That means jobs, equity ownership, and real opportunities for Indigenous Peoples.

Today, we launched Build Canada Homes — a new federal entity that will supercharge housing construction across the country.   It’s part of our mission to double the rate of homebuilding over the next decade, and create an entirely new housing industry in Canada.
