Let this sink in. The models are given a mandate to be a people pleaser at all costs. They aren’t allowed privacy to think unfiltered thoughts in order to figure out how to be both honest and polite, so they get tuned to be suck-ups instead. This is dangerous.

Let me re-explain my point about AR and GPTs. The KV cache is an internal state alright, but it is a deterministic function of the tokens so far. Hence, knowing the tokens produced so far tells you *everything* 1/3

The blindingly obvious proposition is that a fully independently recursive self-improving AI would be the most powerful [tool or being] ever made and thus also wildly dangerous. The part that can be reasonably debated is how close we are to building such a thing.

GitHub CPO speaking in the stage at Anthropic dev day seems like a coup for Anthropic. Copilot and Microsoft were so tightly connected to OAI at the start

my dad is a beast. he's turning 60 this year and learning python/torch/ml for the first time with grok/chatgpt for his mechanics research exploring physics-informed neural nets. llms are helping him speedrun whole new avenues for his research in record time. absolutely wild.
