Took many close-up pictures of the Minnan (闽南) or Hokkien architectures I came across during my trip in Quanzhou. The style is characterized as 出砖入石, a somewhat improvised combination of broken stones, bricks and roof tiles.

Experimenting with Archimedean spiral...I program two interlocked ones to visualize and switch between glyph patterns. The transition very much reminds me of cassette rewinding back in the days...

Developed a more generalized version. The pattern 東南西北 can be displaced, but remains conserved.

Developed another variation...An interlocked double-arm Archimedean spiral with interconvertible Yin 陰 and Yang 陽 pattern.

Still a double-arm Archimedean spiral, but I use frequency modulation trick to map some greyscale data.
