It was great to present a snapshot of our work at the Maxwell Annual Research Showcase last week to a mixed audience from academia, start-ups, industry and policymaking & listen to some fantastic ideas! ✨ Maxwell Centre Cavendish Laboratory #WomeninSTEM #MaxwellShowcase2022

Our work featured on the cover of Joule. Using optical scattering microscopy to show how intra-particle lithium heterogeneity limits performance in NMCs. Check out the full paper here - sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Cambridge University Alice Merryweather Cavendish Laboratory Faraday Institution

High efficiency singlet fission in solution processable molecules with a high triplet energy! Check out our latest paper with the Bronstein Group. pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10… Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS) Cavendish Laboratory Daniel Toolan

Come and join us to explore a new frontier in ultrafast dynamics at the nanoscale - jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/39093/ Particularly keen to hear from applicants from backgrounds historically underrepresented in STEM. Please RT Cavendish Laboratory Cambridge University

Our paper on intramolecular singlet fission (iSF) in high-energy dimers is now out in Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS) . Tweaking molecular design to maximise triplet yield and suppress recombination. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja… Cavendish Laboratory Cambridge University Cambridge Chemistry

Two PDRAs in the group 1) Operando optical microscopy of batteries jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/39117/ 2)Ultrafast optical microscopy of semiconductors and quantum materials jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/39093/ Faraday Institution Cambridge University Cavendish Laboratory Cambridge Chemistry

We review how Conical Intersections control ultrafast photochemical reactions, in particular by focussing on the role of multiple vibrational modes. #photochemistry ⚡️ Super excited that this work of M. Olivucci and I is online now! Chem Soc Rev pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Delighted our work has had a great write up in CNET. Thanks again to all who support my research Rao Group George Malliaras NanoDTC @cdtpv Howe Lab Laura T. Wey @JLawrence_96 Jenny Zhang cnet.com/science/scient…

Three PDRA positions in the group, check out the adverts here rao.oe.phy.cam.ac.uk/join-the-group/ Particularly keen to hear from applicants from backgrounds historically underrepresented in STEM. Please RT and spread the word. Cavendish Laboratory Cambridge University

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining Rice Materials Science & NanoEngineering and Rice Neuroengineering Initiative at Rice University as an Assistant Professor in July 2024! My group will investigate conducting polymer devices to address challenges in neuroengineering. Big thanks to Alberto Salleo George Malliaras Rao Group!

Surprise! Ions conduct faster than electrons – in polymer electrodes at least. ⚡ This breakthrough from Cavendish and @Cambridge_ee researchers will unlock faster charging in electrochemical devices. 👇 phy.cam.ac.uk/news/new-study… Scott Keene Rao Group George Malliaras

Excited to share my work using microscopy to study ion (and hole) transport in conjugated polymers! Now out in Nature Materials: doi.org/10.1038/s41563… With George Malliaras Rao Group Joonatan Laulainen Raj Pandya Iain McCulloch Max Moser Chris Schnedermann + Paul Midgley 1/9

Paper with Bronsteingroup out now in Nature Materials.

Our paper on how to break the "Energy Gap Law" out now in nature. Read it here - rdcu.be/dHket We show that losses due to coupling to high-frequency modes are not a fundamental property of organic molecules! Great collaboration with Bronsteingroup Bartomeu Monserrat
